However, with the mask’s control diminished, he now sports a refined black suit, complete with a fedora, white shirt, black tie, gloves, and leather shoes. His ensemble is accentuated by an intriguingly designed belt, and, of course, the iconic smiling mask that conceals his face. Known for his habit of smoking, Sniper Mask often takes a puff during moments of leisure—and sometimes even in the heat of pursuit, as seen during his first encounter with Yuri Honjo.

His appearance bears a resemblance to Rika Honjo, with a similar hairstyle, but he appears taller and slightly older, with a striking scar beneath his left eye. This “sharper” version of Rika has a rugged appeal that adds to his aura of mystery. In a rare moment, Sniper Mask reveals his face to Yuri in a traditional Japanese-style room, prompting her to blush and describe him as “super handsome.” Disappointed when he decides to keep his mask on, she playfully questions why he would hide such a “super hot” face.

Initially, Sniper Mask functioned like any other angel, fully under the mask’s control, devoid of his own reasoning or will. However, after a grenade explosion involving Yuri Honjo and Mayuko Nise, he survived with a crack in his mask, allowing it to malfunction. This incident restored fragments of his consciousness and memory, enabling him to think and assess his situation. Despite regaining partial control, he was still bound to the mask’s orders, which compelled him to drive humans to despair or kill them if they resisted. Upon meeting Kuon Shinzaki, he attempted to intimidate her by aiming his rifle at her, only to be stopped by the mask itself. This unusual experience allowed him to express his concerns for the first time, marking the beginning of his journey toward freedom. Later, after going into hibernation mode—a state reserved for “defective” angels—he was saved by Kuon and Mayuko, allowing him to regain full independence. Despite his freedom, he continues to wear the mask to prevent residual suicide commands from affecting him.

Now, without the mask’s control, Sniper Mask reveals himself to be a highly intelligent and perceptive individual, making strategic decisions based on careful consideration. Once he forms bonds with others, he shows genuine concern for their well-being, though his outward demeanor often prioritizes “looking cool” in any situation. This sense of “coolness” is a core part of his personality, and he frequently worries about his image when facing awkward situations. Despite these occasional insecurities, his natural charisma and composed attitude help him navigate even the most embarrassing moments with a sense of flair.

His connection with Kuon gradually brings out a more caring side, and his role within Yuri’s group allows him to develop into a capable and respected leader.

Marksmanship
Sniper Mask possesses exceptional precision, capable of hitting targets from over 200 meters away. Skilled in both long-range and close-quarters combat, he demonstrated his prowess by swiftly defeating Axe Mask in a brief encounter. He can utilize ricochets to take down opponents, catch bullets with ease, and even dodge sniper shots. His weapon of choice appears to be a Mosin-Nagant, a 7.62x54mm Russian bolt-action rifle with an internal magazine.

Faceless Mask Abilities
After receiving Kuon Shinzaki’s power transfer, Sniper Mask gains access to all the abilities of a faceless mask, enhancing his skills and resilience.

Mask Manipulation
With Kuon’s powers, Sniper Mask can potentially control other masks. This ability requires a compatible wavelength between him and the other angels or a wavelength higher than theirs, allowing him to command them. The number of masks he can control varies, and this power must be activated through focused mental effort.

Self-Reinforcement
Kuon’s powers also enable Sniper Mask to enhance his own physical abilities, strengthening him to the extent that he can remove masks. This reinforcement activates automatically in life-threatening situations before his code is fully installed.

Guardian Angel Control
Upon completing the God Code, Sniper Mask gains the rare ability to control guardian angels, unlike typical faceless mask users who are limited to commanding only smiling masks. He is currently the only known user with this ability.

Mask Hearing Ability
One of the inherent abilities of his mask grants him exceptional hearing, allowing him to pinpoint the origin of sounds with incredible accuracy, even when out of sight.

Railgun Control
With Kuon’s spirit residing in his mind, Sniper Mask can control the railgun system, harnessing the destructive power typically associated with those “closer to God.”

Forced Defragmentation
This enhancement boosts his physical capabilities beyond what regular defragmentation would achieve, allowing him to match the strength and agility of an Apostle, such as Rika Honjo.

Enhanced Hearing
His advanced auditory senses allow him to detect sounds from vast distances, such as pinpointing Mayuko’s scream from hundreds of meters away and identifying her exact location.

Rika Honjo
Rika is Sniper Mask’s younger biological brother.

Yuri and Sniper Mask started off as enemies, but they eventually became allies to one another.
